This Weeks Results, Serbia and Lebanon

By Daniel Andruczyk

So this is a bit of a catch up post. There have been many results that have come in this week. Even though the main international games are over our juniors are involved in many tournaments at the moment. The U18’s and school boys are playing and against the French, English and Welsh. Now I already have given a couple of these results but several more have come through. The Serbian University Championships results have come through and also the Bank of Beirut Championships have also begun.

International results

The Australian School boys and the Australian Institute of Sport teams are playing matches. Last week, in what seems to have been a trend in French Rugby League the last 5 years or so the school boy teams, that is the U17’s and U19’s do extremely well beating the Australian Institute of sport teams. The first game on the 16 th November saw the French U17’s beat AIS 23-16 in Villefranche. Then in Toulouse the U19 had a narrow win against the AIS again 14-12. As mentioned in an earlier blog the Australian School Boys beat Wales 56-6 and yesterday The AIS team took on the Warrington Academy team and thrashed them 66 to 4. The AIS matches are a tour but the The School Boys table stands as:

Team P W D L B PD Pt
1 Australian Schoolboys 2 2 0 0 1 52 2
2 England U18 2 0 1 0 1 0 1
3 Wales U18 2 0 1 1 0 -52 1

Round 1 of the Lebanese Bank of Beirut Champion ships were started last weekend. Once again there are the same 7 teams as last year involved. The points table stands as:

Team P W D L B PD Pt

2 USJ 1 1 0 0 0 30 2
3 Balamand 1 1 0 0 0 24 2
4 AUB 1 0 0 0 1 0 0
5 AUST 1 0 0 1 0 -24 0
6 Wolves 1 0 0 1 0 -30 0
7 Jounieh 1 0 0 1 0 -32 0

Serbian University Championships

The Serbian University Championships started on the last weekend of October so there have been 4 weeks of competition. This is actually an interfaculty competition at the University of Belgrade and from this competition the best players are selected for the University team that plays in the National Championships. As mentioned there are 4 rounds played so far and so I’ll divvy out the results of those 4. Round 1 saw Philosophy beat Organisational Sciences 22-18. Transport beat Political 30-22 and the Military Academy had the Bye. Round 2 Transport lost to Philosophy 0-66 while Organisational Sciences beat the Military Academy and Political Sciences had the Bye. Round 3 saw Organisational and Political sciences have a 16 all draw the Philosophy and Military game has been delayed while Transport has the Bye. Last weekend round 4 had the Military get their first win 28-8 over Transport, Political and Philosophy faculties have postponed their games and the Organisational Sciences had the Bye. There is one more round left before the Christmas break. The table stands as:
