Choose a Logo for the ‘Mounties’ Canada Rugby League National Team

With the Rugby League’s newest National Team now having a nickname, the Canada Rugby League now needs your help in choosing a logo for the new look ‘Mounties’.

The Canada Rugby League has developed four draft options for the National Team’s logo, and is asking for all Rugby League fans to vote on which logo they fee would best represent the side.

The new logo will feature on the Canadian Mounties rugby league uniform and merchandise.

Commenting on the ability for the fans to vote, Acting President of Canada Rugby League, Jamie Lester, stated:

“This is an amazing opportunity for Canadians and fans around the world to have their say and become apart of something special. Mounties symbolize a traditional and proud piece of Canadian history and we are excited to have the Mounties name become synonymous with the Canada Rugby League National team”.

“Like the Kiwis, Kangaroos and Kumuls being identifiable with the New Zealand, Australia and Papua New Guinea rugby league teams, the Mounties nickname has been chosen to create the same effect for the Canadian team. A Mounties selection team will play their first scheduled event against AMNRL clubs in the annual ‘War at the Shore’ tournament in New Jersey on July 31st."

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to play against successful AMNRL clubs and to become an integral piece to the development of the Americas Rugby League”

Mounties has long been a traditional and proud piece of Canadian history and it is hoped that the new looked representative teams will reflect the professionalism, determination and hard working ethics associated with the Mounties.
