This Weeks Results, Serbia and Lebanon

By Daniel Andruczyk

So this is a bit of a catch up post. There have been many results that have come in this week. Even though the main international games are over our juniors are involved in many tournaments at the moment. The U18’s and school boys are playing and against the French, English and Welsh. Now I already have given a couple of these results but several more have come through. The Serbian University Championships results have come through and also the Bank of Beirut Championships have also begun.

International results

The Australian School boys and the Australian Institute of Sport teams are playing matches. Last week, in what seems to have been a trend in French Rugby League the last 5 years or so the school boy teams, that is the U17’s and U19’s do extremely well beating the Australian Institute of sport teams. The first game on the 16 th November saw the French U17’s beat AIS 23-16 in Villefranche. Then in Toulouse the U19 had a narrow win against the AIS again 14-12. As mentioned in an earlier blog the Australian School Boys beat Wales 56-6 and yesterday The AIS team took on the Warrington Academy team and thrashed them 66 to 4. The AIS matches are a tour but the The School Boys table stands as:

Team P W D L B PD Pt
1 Australian Schoolboys 2 2 0 0 1 52 2
2 England U18 2 0 1 0 1 0 1
3 Wales U18 2 0 1 1 0 -52 1

Bank of Beirut Lebanon Champion ships

Round 1 of the Lebanese Bank of Beirut Champion ships were started last weekend. Once again there are the same 7 teams as last year involved. So results for round 1 have the Wolves go down to USJ 0-30, Jounieh in a drastic reversal of form from a few years ago also lost to LAU 0-32, Balamand 28-4 AUST and AUB has the Bye. The points table stands as:

Team P W D L B PD Pt
1 LAU 1 1 0 0 0 32 2
2 USJ 1 1 0 0 0 30 2
3 Balamand 1 1 0 0 0 24 2
4 AUB 1 0 0 0 1 0 0
5 AUST 1 0 0 1 0 -24 0
6 Wolves 1 0 0 1 0 -30 0
7 Jounieh 1 0 0 1 0 -32 0

Serbian University Championships

The Serbian University Championships started on the last weekend of October so there have been 4 weeks of competition. This is actually an interfaculty competition at the University of Belgrade and from this competition the best players are selected for the University team that plays in the National Championships. As mentioned there are 4 rounds played so far and so I’ll divvy out the results of those 4. Round 1 saw Philosophy beat Organisational Sciences 22-18. Transport beat Political 30-22 and the Military Academy had the Bye. Round 2 Transport lost to Philosophy 0-66 while Organisational Sciences beat the Military Academy and Political Sciences had the Bye. Round 3 saw Organisational and Political sciences have a 16 all draw the Philosophy and Military game has been delayed while Transport has the Bye. Last weekend round 4 had the Military get their first win 28-8 over Transport, Political and Philosophy faculties have postponed their games and the Organisational Sciences had the Bye. There is one more round left before the Christmas break. The table stands as:

Team P W D L B PD PT
1 Philosophy 2 2 0 0 0 70 4
2 Organisational 4 1 1 1 1 -2 3
3 Military 3 1 0 1 1 18 2
4 Transport 4 1 0 2 1 -78 2
5 Political 3 0 1 1 1 -8 1

So the roar told the whole world that russian rugby league was on its’ last legs in march.Yeah right.Go and look at the new russian rl site daniel.Shows how biased that site is.Rugby propaganda. No wonder they block all my blogs and again like so many other sites everyone writes under a nome de plume.

  2. C.T.SANDERS says:

Well go and have a look at that site again. The aussie rules crowd aren’t as mean spirited as the rugby union lot are, only death wishing a sport[rrl] into oblivion in march 2010 yet that crowd don’t like it when i rubbished their first 3 world cups and rightly so, the first one being a clayton’s world cup according to the south africans and luis lyatt told the whole world that south africa would of won it in 1987 and that the ab’s had no right to call themselves world champions.Agreed.
In fact, the rugby union crowd are so ignorant that they don’t recognise anyone of those rl world cups especially the ones that featured only 4 teams.
Even the 2008 event wasn’t reconised as a world cup as such and people still go crook on this site when i badmouthed their world cups.In their eyes the 2008rl world cup was a crock of shit because in their eyes again rl ain’t a global game.
How come there have been only 4 wiiners of the william webb ellis trophy and 3 winners of the rl world cup and didn’t they pinch the idea off us in the first place.
Not much difference in my book.Rugby union can give out plenty but can’t take.Time to stand up and be counted because i have had enough of double standards and hyprocrisy.I never, ever deathwished another sport in my life and the attacks on russian rugby league in reguards to that site were quite savage.Outside rl,i have also helped a lot of other sports as well.I am not one eyed or biased take your pick.

  3. C.T.SANDERS says:

That site is full of vindictive people hoping and wanting to see a sport in russia die off at all costs and we daniel aren’t going to see that happen at all.Like hell.
However,on another note good to see johnny quayle come back in the fold. The administration of the game is out of control and it has been in that state since 1996.We hve had a gutsful of the whole lot and time for them to all go.

    • druzik says:

I think you’ll find people on the Roar just don’t want to see RL get anywhere for what ever reason. They see it as a threat.

Well be interesting what Quale bring back to the fold.

  4. C.T.SANDERS says:

He will bring back stability because the rfl, arl, nrl and nzrl don’t know what the hell they are doing.

    • druzik says:

Well, we’ll see. Remember the problem in Australia has been there for over 30 years, 30 years that he was part of already.

To me its looking like mates helping mates again. No new fresh blood… besides he will have zero to do with the RFL and NZRL so not sure why you’re bringing them into it.

  5. C.T.SANDERS says:

Well he’s a very experienced adminisrator daniel and he’s interested in expansion where the others ain’t.
The auckland rl thinks that the game is all about sydney where they continue to use and abuse us and i for one ain’t going to take it anymore.
Tell me who should be in charge of rugby league.God.

    • druzik says:

He may be an experience administrator, but does not mean he does not have conflicts of interest and still screw the RLIF and International RL over… which I am sure will still happen with this independent commission.

Rugby League at its head actually needs administrators that have business experience and not rugby league experience. The Game stuff certainly can be done by League managers, as they know policy and the game, but the running of a administration needs to be done by professionals.

There are many out there who have the game at their heart and mean well, but are just not good at administrating and so do more harm than good, making bad business decisions…. Parramatta Eels are the first that come to mind.

  6. C.T.SANDERS says:

The game has gone pearshaped because we have no people with any rl experience in the corridors of power and people with so called rl knowledge have no business skills to run the game properly. It’s a real dilemma.
Quayle has been out of it since 1996.I don’t think he did a bad job with the ioc and the 2000 sydney olympics were the most successful in the game’s history.
What do you want daniel?Quayle is the ultimate professional and wants to globilise the game. The others don’t.

    • druzik says:

Many “Rugby League” people dont have business skills and do lost more damage. The running fo a club or organisatrion needs to be done with professionals not as you like to say “Johnny come lately’s”. Administering the rules of the game need to be done with rugby league heads.

The NRL’s biggest issue wasn’t who was running it, it was that no one knew who was the main person running it, it was all over the joint and disjointed. You had the NRL working autonomously from the ARL and the NSWRL and QRL and CRL had no say in NRL matters.

On top of that all the other states had/have absolutely no say in things, and with the new commission still wont. If anything this commission is concentrating the power even more in two states!

  7. C.T.SANDERS says:

Well gallop, love, carr and mcdonald have got to go and here in nz apart from doyle the whole nzrl board got to go as well because they have been a walking disaster. They won’t address the corruption in the game and the past will not go away.In england lewis should go back to sport england and woods and the whole rfl board of directors have to go as well. The poms are paying dog tucker and it’s unacceptable.
