Hi Dan thoroughtly enjoyed watching Euro Shield video highlights. The players had a great understanding knowledge of the game and the standard of play was a credit to all concerned… cheers

The encouraging thing was that these were two fledgling nations and they were able to put on a great show. Fortunately many of the players have spent time in England and learnt the sport there and were able to being it back and push it. There is some very good Talent in Europe, it just needs to be tapped.

THERE ARE MORE PEOPLE AT EUROPEAN SHIELD INTERNATIONALS THIS YEAR IN EUROPE THAN WHAT HAVE BEEN AT THE NSWPREMIER LEAGUE MATCHES IN SYDNEY,GOSFORD AND AUCKLAND.I TOLD THE WHOLE WORLD THAT THIS RESERVE GRADE COMPETITION WAS A WASTE OF TIME AND WASTE OF RESOURCES.IT’S A JOKE

    • druzik says:

Why is it a waste of time and resources? Only a couple hundred have been at the Shield and bowl games, and I have seen this year games that definitely have had more than that in the NSWRL comp and QRL comps.

  3. C.T.SANDERS says:

THERE WERE ONLY 26 PEOPLE FOR A RECENT VULCAN’S GAME HERE IN AUCKLAND AT MT SMART NO 2 AND WHEN THE VULCANS TRAVELLED TO NORTH SYDNEY AND NEWTOWN THIS YEAR,THE CROWDS WEREN’T MUCH BETTER.
20 YEARS AGO NORTH SYDNEY USED TO GET 25000 CROWDS AT THE NORTH SYDNEY OVAL.NOW THEY GET BUGGER ALL.IF THAT IS PROGRESS I GO HE.THE NSWPREMIER LEAGUE COMP IS A WASTE OF TIME AS WELL AS A WASTE OF RESOURCES BECAUSE IT GETS NO TV COVERAGE,DRAWS NO CROWDS,IT MAKES NO MONEY AND IT UNDERMINES THE STRENGTH OF THE LOCAL COMPETITION ESPECIALLY HERE IN AUCKLAND.I NEVER MENTIONED THE QUEENSLAND CUP BEFORE BUT I THINK IT GETS A LOT OF LIVE COVERAGE ON ABC TV,THE CROWDS ARE A LOT BIGGER,IT IS A LOT MORE SPREAD OUT,I THINK THAT THE CANBERRA RAIDERS PUMPED A LOT OF MONEY INTO LOGAN CITY WHICH IS MORE THAN WHAT THE WARRIORS PUT INTO THE VULCANS AND TEAMS LIKE THE BURLEIGH BEARS HAVE BEATEN INTERNATIONAL TOURING SIDES IN THE PAST SUCH AS GREAT BRITAIN IN 1999.TELL ME WHAT THE NSW PREMIER LEAGUE COMP AS EVER ACHIEVED IN THE PAST.IT’S A VACUUM CLEANER THAT CONTINUES TO SUCK OUT MONEY ESPECIALLY AT THE EXPENSE OF THE GAME AT THE GRASSROOTS.
AS I SAY ONE SPORT RUGBY UNION THINKS BIG BY BASING THEIR WHOLE GAME AROUND THE OLYMPICS THE OTHER RUGBY LEAGUE THINKS SMALL BY BASING EVERYTHING AROUND A SYDNEY RESERVE GRADE COMPETITION THAT CONTINUES TO GOES NO WHERE.NO WONDER THE RUGBY UNION CROWD ARE LAUGHING THEIR TITS OFF AT OUR EXPENSE AND RUGBY LEAGUE AS A SPORT IS BRAIN DEAD …
