Are you still in Norway, you can probably get involved with Warren and the team in some way.

I played Rugby Union in Norway in the late 1990’s, it was great fun but league is a better game to play and watch. I wish I was 10 years younger so I could come over for a game. All sounds very exciting.

Yeah… there are many unfortunate stories with RL in Europe. Even in places like Estonia the anti-rl sentiment has penetrated now.

The Blog website has been redesigned too… it hopefully will form the base for the whole website soon. Let me know what you think of it.

lol that would be interesting. Im sure the Union officals deserved it considering Union in many countries tries to kick RL out – they feel threated by a better game.

Yes it would be wonderful, I kid you not, Imagine the kangaroos playing Norway with the Fjords as the backdrop… absolutely amazing. They wouldn’t need ice baths either just jump straight into the freezing water lol. (I know I did it).

Yeah union does still cause a few problems, it tends to be all the ex-pats that harbour the anti-Rugby League sentiment. If you ever get the chance to talk to Warren ask him about my exchanges with the RU officials at one of the after parties lol Warrens recounts are quite hilarious though I don’t remember them to be so dramatic… maybe because I was slightly inebriated.

Thanks. Warren really wants to push RL through the region. Last Year when I was at the Scandinavian 9s he was talking about having a pan-Scandinavian domestic comp and even one day playing in the Challenge Cup.

He certainly got much help from the teams in the QLD Cup, with kits and also he trained with the Broncos. They now have 9 full playing kits in Norway for teams.

Warren and his wife really do have a passion for the game thats for sure.

Sounds all good – hopefully their aims can be achieved like all the developing nations and genuinely add that region to the RL landscape.

Great story Dan, I am very excited to see the progression of RL in Norway and a massive congratualtions to Warren Heilig and all the work he has done in Norway.
