Young German to trial with Halifax RLFC
Rugby League Deutschland are proud to report that Halifax Rugby League Football Club are giving young talented German International, Jimmy Keinhorst, a trial at the club with the Reserve grade starting in June. The 17 years old Jimmy , who made a very impressive debut for Germany against the Czechs in Prague in 2007, can play in a number of positions including Hooker and at half back. Jimmy plays for the German Exiles team in the Midlands Merit League, alongside his 3 brothers. Jimmy is the youngest of the 4 Keinhorst brothers who play for the German Exiles as well as representing Germany. Jimmy lives near Leeds, but his fathers family are from the Bochum area of Germany.
Martin Gonzalez who is assistant coach at Halifax RLFC said " We are always looking at bringing in good young players at Halifax and giving them a chance to prove themselves with us, no matter where they are from."
Rugby League Deutschland president, Simon Cooper added " We have a good relationship with Halifax RLFC and we are very excited that Jimmy has been offered a chance to train with such a highly recognized club as Halifax RLFC. We feel Jimmy will learn much from being at Halifax RLFC and hope that he impresses enough to stay longer at the club".
Jimmy said " I am very excited
at going to Halifax on trial and learning and developing under the guidance of
Karl Fairbank and the other trainers at the club. I want to concentrate on my
exams first, but after that can put 100% in to my time with Halifax RLFC."
